HOW DOES THE GAME LIVE UP TO IT’S EXPLANATION/BOX ART? (9/10)

This box doesn’t yell, “Hey look at me!! BUY ME!!” This box says, I’m bland and boring. But! This game is awesome! Have you ever played Joust? Well it’s on the console too and pretty much the same game, but every old game had it’s many variants with slight changes.

Balloon Fight’s box says everything that it is. You have fun knocking people out of the skies!!

HOW IS THE GAME PLAY? (10/10)

This game plays really well. Extremely well for an original console release title. Which is pretty much true of all the original black box games.

But, you have quick flight where you can hold the button down and constantly fly. (basically built in turbo) Or you can tap the button for slower speeds. You use these different play mechanics to land on the bad guys balloons and send them flying to the ground, where you fly down and kick them for extra points, and so they don’t come back.

As most the black box games had a second mode. As does Balloon fight. You get to play a separate game where the only enemy is yourself. You have to fly across a black background avoiding lighting bolt lights. You can grab a bubble so they stop moving around, but the screen stops moving too.

It’s all about getting the high score!
HOW DOES THE GAME LIVE UP TO IT’S GENRE? (10/10)

Well I would put this in the Arcade game genre. It’s not really an action game even though it is. It is very much like Joust which is a fun game, but it’s just different enough that it keeps itself away from you going.. this is a rip off.

THE ‘GAME OVER’ ALL? (97%)

This game is a lot of fun. It’s not very difficult. It’s easy for anyone to play, and it has two player mode where you can face off to get more points than your friend, or just kill them so they can’t. Yep, you can kill the other player to add in more FUN!

HOW DOES THE GAME LIVE UP TO IT’S EXPLANATION/BOX ART? (6/10)

The cover of this game looks amazing. Extremely amazing!! Like something straight off a rock n roll album.. I have to have this!!

I turn it over, and the images look really lame in comparison to the box art. But, the story line sounds pretty cool. I’m Eebo trying to gather up these pieces to reseal this old boss. Kind of a normal story line, but most of those are usually pretty good.

You get home, open the box and the cartridge is blue… Oh NO……. Not a blue cart game.. These are TERRIBLE!!!

HOW IS THE GAME PLAY? (2/10)

This game plays like something straight off a beta cart. Something that no one would have printed because the game obviously isn’t complete yet. Right?

Wrong.. This piece of crap in your nintendo entertainment system is not entertaining anyone. The hit box in this game is just awful. If any monster or bad guy gets stuck on you, your life bar just vanishes. Hit 9 times when should have only got hit once? Well that’s too bad, because in Castle of Deceit you get what you get.. And that’s trash mixed with vomit.

The only sort of redeeming quality of the game is they did put a free man on each stage, and they did hide some health in walls, and just about every other enemy. So that helps you get farther. If you want to play farther.
HOW DOES THE GAME LIVE UP TO IT’S GENRE? (1/10)

This game is constructed about as well as a shed that was reinforced with a tree that was already growing there.

The game isn’t quite a platformer and it isn’t really a shooter, but it mixes these two elements of gameplay together. So when you play the regular game you are plat forming and avoiding holes that you explode in. All of the enemies avoid your shots, so you have to waste extra time messing with killing them, or just run passed them in hopes that they don’t stick in you. You gotta find a key to open a door to make the levels a little longer, the key is never hidden, it’s just on the way to where you are going anyway.

The shooter part of it is the boss fights and a random under water stage. The boss fights are annoying because you have the giant boss head bouncing around randomly while fireballs shoot at you randomly. There is sort of a pattern sometimes, but not really enough to play through the bosses perfectly without taking a few deaths or a lot of health. And sometimes you’ll kill the boss and walk through the door, and it will put you back in the boss room with the fireballs that were left?! What the hell.. come on.
THE ‘GAME OVER’ ALL? (30%)

This game is beatable which is something at least.

It will let you continue a few times if you pay attention to the screen and follow the hold these buttons to continue. So, you don’t have to look up any codes or anything. Just pay attention. That’s a bonus to this crap. You could probably play through it in one continue if you were lucky enough to avoid most the stuff in the game, or sit there and take a half hour per 5 minute stage. But, it’s do able. You just wouldn’t want to.

The fact that this game is so expensive for being a “blue cart” game is ridiculous. If this was a real licensed release it would still get the same amount of money, because no one bought this piece of shit. And, now collectors want it, but they aren’t going to play it either. Maybe the first stage and take it out.

Well I beat the damned thing. Watch the video of this piece of junk.
