A cult classic that feels right at home as my first review. A film that even the writer/director himself discredits, citing it as the worst of his film adaptations.

I still wonder what made Stephen King choose “Trucks” to be his first directorial effort. ¬†With so many other stories he has written that would have been far easier to adapt and direct, maybe his career as a director would have been different had he started with a less ambitious project.

Reasons to check this film out!

– If over the top action, strange dialog choices and an offbeat plot are things you look for in a movie, this has it all in strong doses.

– Fans of movies with heavy stunt work, at the time CGI wasn’t developed to a point that you could use it to shoot a movie like this. A few notable accidents happened on set, including one that caused the Director of Photography to lose his eye.

– The AC/DC soundtrack that drives this movie picks the pace up nicely even after the parts of the movie that drag the most.

– Not for Shushers! Great film to watch in a group of horror fans. Plenty of moments ripe for commentary and fun with a mix of people who’ve both seen the film and are seeing it for the first time.
