A cult classic that feels right at home as my first review. A film that even the writer/director himself discredits, citing it as the worst of his film adaptations.

I still wonder what made Stephen King choose “Trucks” to be his first directorial effort.  With so many other stories he has written that would have been far easier to adapt and direct, maybe his career as a director would have been different had he started with a less ambitious project.

Reasons to check this film out!

– If over the top action, strange dialog choices and an offbeat plot are things you look for in a movie, this has it all in strong doses.

– Fans of movies with heavy stunt work, at the time CGI wasn’t developed to a point that you could use it to shoot a movie like this. A few notable accidents happened on set, including one that caused the Director of Photography to lose his eye.

– The AC/DC soundtrack that drives this movie picks the pace up nicely even after the parts of the movie that drag the most.

– Not for Shushers! Great film to watch in a group of horror fans. Plenty of moments ripe for commentary and fun with a mix of people who’ve both seen the film and are seeing it for the first time.
